Nurgle's Sevenrot
Inspired by Kabbalah's Sefirot, and reducing the number of nodes to a perfect seven, here is a philosophical framework for followers of Nurgle. The three goals (Decay, Disease, Destruction) are the same found on the Sigil of Nurgle from the background images of Dark Heresy.
- Nurgle, the Lord of All, lies at the centre of all things and around him the circle of life and death plays out.
- There are three methods, leading to three goals:
- Corruption, through which we achieve Decay.
- Infection, through which we achieve Disease.
- Ruination, through which we achieve Destruction.
- There are three traits:
- Exuberance, reached through Victory by Ruination.
- Resilience, reached through Spread by Infection.
- Generosity, reached through Gifts by Corruption.
- The traits interact to deliver the methods:
- Exuberance and Generosity lead to Infection. We gleefully share His bounty with all.
- Generosity and Resilience lead to Ruination. We endure and let loose as we enact His will.
- Resilience and Exuberance lead to Corruption. We gladly accept and take on His blessings.
- The Daemons of Nurgle emanate from a trait and a method:
- The Nurgling embodies Exuberance and enacts Corruption.
- The Beast embodies Exuberance and enacts Infection.
- The Plague Toad embodies Resilience and enacts Corruption.
- The Great Unclean One embodies Generosity and enacts Infection.
- The Plaguebearer embodies Resilience and enacts Ruination.
- The Rot Fly embodies Generosity and enacts Ruination.
- The graph formed by these interactions makes the net of a diminished cube (a heptahedron with seven faces and seven vertices).
